A Little Less Conversation…

So in this professional journey of never-ending frustration, I’ve realized that it’s not entirely my fault that I cannot get shit done around here.  It seems like every time someone else’s input is required to complete something, like keeping current on my share of the water bill or getting an answer about a notice from OMH, I seem to always arrive in the middle of some tedious, long-winded personal conversation.  Because we have nothing better to do at work, apparently. Grasping at the Ether

Drowsy wins…

I wonder if I’ll remember this in the morning

But drowsy wins

 

Beating hands-down the itchy instability,

Inhale the vapor of tranquility…

The incoherent murmuring of darkened voices

Their blackly stuttering buzz

Inflicting my ears with the electric flush of flies’ wings

 

It seems all at once to be jarring my calm

Wiping it out with an ashen brushstroke

Sealing its mood with a tar-stain

 

Drowsy wins out

While I clutch my pillow

Tight and close as the night falls ‘round

 

Will I remember this in the morning?
