You’ll notice I’ve been slacking on my April PAD-Challenge posts. Ok, so I’m not slacking off on just posting for this challenge; I’m completely slacking on completing it. At least I’ve done several poems this month. Which is definitely more than I’d have done without said challenge…
So on that note, thanks, Robert Lee Brewer, for giving me this kick in the poetic pants. Here is my submission for Day 26:
BLOODSTAINED
Train ride, glass window
Depths of darkness between platforms
Where time seems to dwindle
And bloodstained daydreams flow
He stands next to in front of reflections
Creeping closer in the darkness
Apparition in the light break
A shadow force
Which harkens back
To slasher-flick quickness
In the dark and thickness
Of a subway car
Rattling its way onward
Shaking fiends closer to their marks
But this angel gets off at the park
Taking her gold chain with her
Too bad he missed her
But his bloodstained daydreams grow

Oh yes, this one is GOOD. It’s like a Bob Dylan song…
